Rainbow Acres

Mission: Rainbow Family is known as the largest non-organization of non-members in the world. We have no leaders, and no organization. We are individuals coming together with common ideals, but not necessarily the same focus. I think it's safe to say we're into intentional community building, non-violence, and alternative lifestyles. We also believe that Peace and Love are a great thing, and we have a strong orientation to take care of the the Earth.

Each (non) member is self directed, and encouraged to follow their passion. Personally, my focus is the creation of an Edenic Botanical Preserve (the Eco-Ark Project) for useful, native and endangered species, which doubles as a horticultural nursery. This community is designed on what I call the American Freedom model. Small parcels rather than a huge place no one can afford. The Eco-Ark Project is just one endeavor on one person's parcel. Others are musicians, aqua-culturists and computer heads. Most all are into planting fruit trees and growing food. We have self rule rather having to ask for consensus from a whole group with differing ideas, hope and dreams. Personal responsibility for your own parcel payments, so one doesn't lose anyone else's home because one ran into bad luck or was too lazy to get their stuff done. If you choose to leave, you can sell your parcel and retrieve your investment. WE CAN work together and help each other with projects big and small, but we are not forced to, if someone is not reciprocating or there are personality or lifestyle conflicts. We have room to be different and live as we like, and for others to do so too, without getting in our face. Freedom for all to pursue their passions and live a self determined life.

Based on Rainbow Family values. We are ecology minded, living close to nature and nurturing her to bring forth abundance. What we are not is a gathering. We are accepting responsibility for our lives and creating them in the way we see fit. We are choosing to associate with others of like mind, for the common good. We are not a commune (though you may be if you choose). We each own and are responsible for our own parcel. Each will develop it's own flavor as different rainbow camps do.

There really is no structure. You do not need our permission to "join". Simply contact a real estate agent and find an available lot in our neighborhood. You have complete control of your investment and what you choose to focus your visions energy on. No need for consensus and endless meetings. We share our talents, energy and aloha in what interests us, and have no investment in what doesn't. All are free to do as they see fit, and share in whatever benefits are being offered.
