Meet the neighbors:

Mission: We are motivated by multi-generational cooperative living, openness and curiosity, and ecological sustainability. We are interested in folks joining us who like hard work, like to see projects through, and are responsible and self-motivated, with a primary interest in cooperative gardening and the possibility of shared business. We are hoping to meet people who want open and kind communication with mutual respect for others and the shared spaces and this land, and who have love and motivation for sharing work and building together, and a joy in seeing each other's individual growth.

From www.ic.org/directory/laughing-frog-gardens/:

We live on 32 acres of wooded land in central Missouri, 30 minutes north of Columbia. Columbia is a vibrant college town with lots of opportunity for cultural activity and education.

For the past eight years we have developed organic permaculture/forest/kitchen gardens that have supplied about 90 percent of our fruits and vegetables for 2 people. They are rich in native and cultivated annuals, perennials, fruiting shrubs and trees. We also have chickens for our eggs. Our intention has been to foster a healthy ecosystem of plants, insects, and animals as a model of small scale integrated sustainable agriculture.

Currently we have a small business on Etsy making rag rug looms, but would love to develop more cottage industry that can support a household through income sharing. Some other things we have done from the land is sustainable education and small farmer's market sales.

There are 3 lots, 2 of them could be built on, with purchasing as an option, or used to extend agricultural needs, and sleeping cottages could be built. For now, new people would need to camp or otherwise provide their own shelter, and their own food. The best fit would be folks who are passionate gardeners, the gardens and chickens managed cooperatively.

Though the house is a conventional house, we heat with responsibly selected wood and retrofitting is a possibility depending on the financial structure that the community sets up.
