Mission: The focus is on sustainability and self-sufficiency.

From www.ic.org/directory/the-project/:

So far I am a single person hoping to find others who share my dreams and goals. The hope is to form a small community, 5 to 7 people, that work to become self-sufficient. Complete self sufficiency is probably not attainable but I want to be as close to it as possible. I believe we are heading into rough times, economically and socially, and want to be in a position to survive regardless of how things go. This is not a survivalist community nor even prepper. I work off site, interact with the community around me and want those outside connections and support but not have to rely on them for survival.
The project has two properties. The residential property is a fairly remote, quiet, peaceful place where one can let go of the stresses of the day. The other is on a maintained road with electricity and is more of a work space. Each property is five acres.
Some shared activities, campfires, meals, work projects would be expected but folks would be, if they chose, free to be fairly independent. Hopefully different members would have different areas of expertise but would train the others so that every member would have a wide set of skills and no member would be the only person capable of any one task.
