Mission: Things we wrestle with on a daily basis are:
-how to transform our house from a gentrifying force to a resource for shifting power in our neighborhood
-interpersonal relationships in the house--how we support each other and collaborate across complex, intersecting identities
-how to work in solidarity with all people and communities experiencing oppression--coming both from places of privilege and oppression in our own lives
Current members all identify as queer, bisexual, and/or transgender.
From www.ic.org/directory/the-crows-nest/:
A collectively owned home aiming to offer affordable rent and share intentional community to help us survive and fight for justice. Since we are landlord-free, we work together on house renovation and meet regularly to manage projects and care for each other. We support each other in organizing and activism. We also enjoy creating community gathering space for celebrations, music and art, spirituality, fun, and self-education (past topics have included land/housing, class/economic justice, spirituality, and sex ed).- Address
