Mission: Be Faithful to Jesus

From www.ic.org/directory/plow-creek/:

We are an intentional Christian community, associated with the Mennonite Church. Located in rural Illinois, we are part of Shalom Mission Communities, with involvement especially in Central America. We welcome those who acknowledge Jesus as Lord of their lives and wish to share in our life together as a part of discipleship.

Values of mutual respect, justice, compassion for the poor, fidelity in marriage, and pacifism form the core of our life together. Hospitality and being connected with other cultures through personal relationships are also important in our shared life.

Some of our members work at a variety of jobs in the larger community, while others help in the farming, growing fruits and vegetables using methods that are environmentally friendly.

As a church we have both communal and noncommunal members. The Fellowship is the communal part and has 10 adults and 2 kids. The noncommunal church members include 4 adults and 2 children. Another family living here is active, but has not chosen membership and another family moving here in the spring. (Numbers as of January 2014.)
