Mission: cheap rent and food, fun, tofu

From www.ic.org/directory/qumbya-co-op/:

We're a group of students, artists, activists, and others who share food, fun, and friendship in our three old houses. We cook vegetarian/vegan homemade food and dine together most nights. Members participate by cooking (once every few weeks), by doing a chore (from shopping for organic produce to vacuuming), and by coming to weekly meetings. We also work on the house together, doing minor maintenance with our own people power.

Our houses are great for people new to the area--or anyone sick of the apartment blues. We are a diverse community accepting of many different lifestyles. It's a terrific situation for those seeking community, a chance to gain new skills and to share with others. We are in Chicago, near the University of Chicago, and close to the downtown loop. If you're interested, give a call or write email. We'd love to have you over for dinner!
