Meet the neighbors:

Mission: Stowe Farm Community is a group of individuals who strive to form a whole greater than the sum of our parts. We care for each other, our surrounding communities, and nature.

Katywil is restructuring! Our new name is STOWE FARM COMMUNITY (website coming soon). We are still a multi-generational, child-friendly, rural co-housing community in Colrain, Massachusetts. We share resources and work together to nurture and support each other and the land on which we live.

There are currently 8 houses (1 is for sale) and 3 lots still available.

Stowe Farm Community is rural but not isolated. We have single family homes, which afford privacy within a supportive community. We are neighbors working together to to improve the quality of our lives. Being supportive and helping each other succeed makes our community thrive. Some of us have home businesses and some drive to their jobs. We currently raise chickens, ducks, pigs, and goats. We make cheese and charcuterie (specialty meats), and have plans to grow some ingredients to support our neighbor’s brewery. We have community gardens and a greenhouse. Some day we hope to have a commercial kitchen for small food ventures and shared meals.

We own individual lots, build our own homes and share the rest of the 80 acres, which include arable farmland, pasture to raise animals, and conserved forest. Stowe Farm Community provides a magnificent view down the North River valley to the Catamount Mountains and an uninterrupted expanse of sky. The views are spectacularly beautiful year round. Houses are clustered on a south-facing slope overlooking the West Branch of the North River and Stone Mountain.

We are 20 minutes from Rte. 91; three and a half hours from Manhattan; 45 minutes from the Massachusetts towns of Amherst, Williamstown, and Northampton, as well as Brattleboro, Vermont; 20 minutes from Greenfield, Massachusetts; and 15 minutes from Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. Our location is near social, arts, and academic communities in the Berkshires.

We are working on our new website and hope to have it up soon.
