Mission: Freegan-ish Micro-Community

From www.ic.org/directory/fort-awesome-2/:

Fort Awesome is a micro intentional community. Right now we exist in the form of a large three person apartment in Middletown, CT. We hope to expand soon into the two other apartments located on the bottom floor of the three family house where we reside, and later to possibly purchase property. Our home uses a highly structured environment in an attempt to create maximum efficiency with resources, excellent communication, and personal accountability. Our values focus on environmental sustainability, consensus-based egalitarianism, non-traditional family structure, and the creation of a safe space. Dan and Ari, the founding members, are queer-friendly, child-free, progressive, in our early 30's, geeky, largely freegan, academic, and we have a pet dove named Juniper.

PLEASE NOTE: The earliest we will be potentially seeking a new community member is Spring 2016, and our current third roommate has expressed an interest to stay here for a few years. We are unlikely to have vacancy in the interim. Please contact AriKubie if you're interested in scheduling a tour and interview.

Thanks!

"I lived in this home for two years and was happy and comfortable from start to finish. The bedroom is spacious, well lit, and comfortable. There is ample storage space in the attic, and plenty of room in the kitchen and bathroom. Dan and Ari are fun, yet responsible, making them easy to live with. The apartment is large enough so you have a sense of privacy. It is not cramped. The house is clean and well-kept. The division of household chores is fair and clearly defined. I found it very easy to keep up with the simple chores and never felt burdened."
