Meet the neighbors:

In the wake of 2012’s Hurricane Sandy, Edgemere Farm’s founders transformed an abandoned city-owned, half-acre lot on Beach 45th Street into a lush and productive space, where a wide variety of fresh and organically-grown vegetables, flowers, and herbs are now cultivated. Chickens, bees, and many varieties of pollinators call the farm home as well. Supported by NYC Parks / GreenThumb, GrowNYC, and Partnerships For Parks, the farm is a volunteer-run, zero-profit organization with a mission of education, food justice, and increasing capacity for both the production of food and the processing of food waste on the Rockaway Peninsula.
