Portland Nursery School was founded in 1972 as a cooperative, because parents wanted to be involved with the education of their preschoolers. Parents of children enrolled form the Association, which operates the school through its Executive Board and Committees. There are currently 14 member families.
Our goal is to nourish each child’s sense of self-worth, while enhancinghis/her ability to relate to others. We, the parents, children andteacher, come together to form a community that acknowledges socialand artistic development, striving to achieve an enriched introductionto education that will last a lifetime.
