Mission: The Elphinstone Rainbow Warriors aim to protect natural forests surrounding Mt. Elphinstone by practicing non-violent civil disobedience, living naturally in a more sustainable, non earth-harming way, and offer a place for others to do the same. Our goal is to change the perspectives in our current society to a new, more balanced ideology where all life is respected.

From www.ic.org/directory/elphinstone-rainbow-warriors/:

This camp was formed as a project to protect the old growth forests on the Sunshine Coast that surround Mt. Elphinstone. We are looking for members to join and assist in building the capacity of our camp this summer. Various projects we'd like to implement this summer are: planting a permaculture food forest, building non-permanent structures like tiny homes or platforms for camping, beautifying the camp as well as general maintenance tasks. Join our cause and bring forward any skills you have to offer.

The group need help with various activities around the camp this summer (see below) but most importantly we are looking for individuals to volunteer their time to help us stop the next cutting block proposed for early September 2018.

Help needed this summer:
- Teaching permaculture and food forest growing techniques, as well as helping with design
- Planting/sewing seed to provide the group with food
- Cooking meals for the group
- Teaching or sharing experiences with laws/regulations surrounding protesting, blockades and activism
- Cleaning and general camp maintenance tasks
- Building temporary structures and/or tiny homes
- Creating banners and signage that are aesthetically pleasing

Accommodation at the moment is mostly camping. We have tarps to create dry areas to camp. There are a couple simple structures built for individuals to sleep in. We are hoping to have volunteers help us build more structures for the area. Food is provided.

At a time where our earth is being polluted and our natural resources destroyed, the group are gathering individuals of all backgrounds to join forces and protect what is left of Mother nature.

There are some guidelines to be aware of before joining our group:
Be kind
Be respectful
Clean up after yourself
Don't bring anything for the camp without asking first
No violence or abusive behavior

The culture of the forest protection group revolves around working together as a community and not being afraid to rejoin nature and live on the land. When volunteering at the camp you will learn how to live a simple lifestyle in the forest, growing your own food, the importance of going back to the wild and connecting with nature directly as well as our approach to activism in terms of stopping proposed logging cut blocks.
