I purchased 40 acres in a rural valley, 4 miles from the shores of Lake Superior. I helped restart a coop house in Madison, WI. That inspired me to want to eventually live in an intentional community in the country side.

No masters, no leaders, but sharing and caring. Creating different systems to slowly detach from the "dominat" culture systems most are raised to rely on.

For now, Spring 2018, it is a mostly "raw" piece of land. Although it has been a farm off and on for 100 years.
Amenities include, a 40ft by 60ft cinder block garage, some animal pens, a driveway, grid electricity, a working well, and 15+ acres of open land, with a slight slope.

Several "old timers" in the area say it is a sweet parcel, and I agree.

There is also a small creek that runs year round through the southern part of the land.

The southern and western boundaries are public land. What the owned acres may lack in old big trees, are in the vast, surrounding public forest. Those trees, County owned, connect to State land, that in turn connect to National forest. Trees for days!

Some currants, hazelnuts, and chestnuts were planted last year, 2017. There is also a thriving grape vine, a few black berry patches, and several apple trees sprinkled around.

For now, I am making the payments, getting the garden area going, and growing. I would like to share it with like minded people.

DIY and DIF.
I love traditional, primitive skills. You know, one people did with their hands and minds before the computer space phone came about. Doing things with friends and loved ones I find to be better then hiring someone to do it for you. Push your comfort, and you can gain comfort.

Permaculture possibilities are abound, due to the slight and sever slopes the land has. Potential potential potential.

Organic standards are a pretty good idea. Following the Iroquois standard of 7 generations seems like a good idea too.
