Meet the neighbors:

Mission: Hard-working, seriously agriculturally-oriented families/individuals striving toward greater self-sufficiency, community resilience, listening to and learning from the earth's cycles and systems, sharing love of children and of animal husbandry (esp. bovine type), evolving earth-based or earth-honoring spiritual practice, practicing nonviolent communication, living simply and with intention and future-focus.

From www.ic.org/directory/kobatawei/:

We are a family of four who have serendipitously acquired the opportunity to farm/rent our neighbor's land. We currently live on a 26-acre off the grid permaculture homestead producing beef, dairy, eggs, poultry, vegetables, fruits, nuts, medicine and wood for heat. The neighbor's land is 52 acres, mostly fallow pasture, a gorgeous year-round creek, old furnished farmhouse, well, outbuildings, sun deck and glassed-in porch with wood and oil heat. We are seeking a family, couple or cohesive co-housing group ("Farming Partners") to live in our neighbor's house and partner in farming one or both properties with us depending on interests and experience. The Farming Partners would be expected to pay utilities on the farmhouse ($200/mo, approx), provide maintenance and some repairs on house, and share house with owner who is only present 20-30 days per year. Farming Partners could develop their own farm venture or partner with us in row-cropping, dairy and meat production toward self sufficiency, or develop a permaculture perennial herb farm at our property. This could become an affordable for-profit farming venture for experienced farmers or a turn-key opportunity for rookies to leave the rat-race and farm a rural property under the guidance of two experienced off-grid, permaculture farmers (30+ combined years farming). We intend to have close community relations with Farming Partners as land and infrastructure on both properties would be shared, and ideally, meals, equipment, childcare, transportation to town etc. would be shared also.
