Mission: Our mission is to help facilitate positive social change through realization of one’s true nature and harmonious living. Our main goal is to educate people how to live mindfully in the Now and with purpose, but also understand at their core that the nature of the Universe is playful and not serious. If you’re dwelling about the future or past, you’re missing what is happening in the current moment, which is all there really is; an “Eternal Now”.

Ommhome is a tiny nonprofit retreat center and intentional community on the big island of Hawaii dedicated to helping people find a natural and harmonious way of transcending their anxiety and depression, including bipolar disorder, and live a life full of vitality and love. Mindfulness is the key, specifically meditation, yoga, internal arts, diet, communal living and being connected with nature. Our vision is off an off-grid permaculture eco-village with rustic minimalistic structures in the Puna region.

Our belief is that most mental health issues are a result of living in disharmony and that “highly sensitive persons”, usually creative individuals, are far more likely to be pushed over the edge by their enivornment.

We are completely donation based, like Vipassana, because we believe in giving without expecting something in return (even Karma), but we do have suggested minimum donation amounts and work hours in order to make sure that we can stay in operation.

Ommhome is meant to be a 501c3 educational nonprofit organization completely funded on the goodwill and generosity of others, and serve as a demonstration of how passionate people can create other organizations like this.

At this stage we are looking for the intrepid individuals who are passionate about this cause and want to put in the hard work to make this center a reality. The community aspect is secondary to the retreat center part, with the idea that the community will grow organically over time.
