Mission: Our Badulina welcome song:

You and me, we're gonna live freestyle,
At least for a while, till the day that we die,
I know we shall find a place under the sky
Where Love is the law and the truth cannot lie,
Who you've been where you going
Have you coming from far?
It don't matter for us, in the present we trust.
We know the worst criminal is a diamond covered in dust

So welcome back to your long-lost home,
You traveled from far but now you know
you are not alone
We are millions, billions
Praying for change
One day we shall unite, gather under this name

Badulina
Open up your gates
Open up your mind
Open up your heart

[Badulina that's also title of the CD, book and beautiful song made by mystical music group.
When new people arrive I introduce them with this song text.]

From www.ic.org/directory/badulina/:

Welcome to Badulina, a young intentional community in South Spain. We enjoy living together with heart, mind and hands. We are from all ages and hold this land for our children and their children to grow up in abundance and harmony. We like to be healthy and open-minded and we aim for self sustainability while also enjoying the advantages of modern technology. Badulina is organized as an association. Joining members become co-owners of the project. Where we invite you to choose an area to build a home and realize your part of the Badulina dream.

We are living on easy slope of blooming terraces with fields of flowers on the fertile ground, taking a deep breath, cracking almonds, picking oranges, peaches, figs, apples and grapes already growing on the property, tasting the wealth of Mother Nature. Creating comfortable living spaces in the cooling shadow of the olive grove in a colorful mixture of creative buildings, people living and working together and hearing the laughter of our children.

In average we are in-between 10 and 15 adults + children. We are currently 2 families with children, elders, visitors and volunteers. In the years the final goal is to reach about 25 members that have their own homes and private areas on the land. Our group is an international mixture of Dutch, Belgium, German, English and Polish people. Our common language is English.

Badulina is organized as an association that governs the whole land. Joining members need to contribute financially to become co-owners of the project. Where we invite you to choose an area to build a home and realize your part of the Badulina dream.

The place is about 9 hectares big, a whole hill with two river beds as natural barriers. We have about 2 hectares with 270 olive trees, 500 almond trees that need to be maintained and harvested and have 200 grape vines. Further a lot of herb land and over 100 fruit trees like: fig-, orange-, mandarin-, lemon-, apple-, pear-, walnut-trees, etc. We have chickens, bee hives and 3 cats.

On the land there is currently nice house in good state with electricity, water, internet, solar water heater and other basic luxuries. It is our temporary communal kitchen, community office and tool shed. Outside we have an extra kitchen, big dining table, sofas, etc. We have also a 6m communal yurt as our communal space. We also have some nice private yurts and domes spread around.

Still we are like settlers on this new land. Right now there are the communal facilities, some caravans, olive tree terraces and a nice atmosphere in nature but we need to improvise till we create facilities for the private places. We will not have fixed buildings for everyone yet. You need to build or arrange your own home on the land in time.

We are planning a big communal building, dance floor, swimming pool, water reservoir and solar system to become as community self sufficient. On the chosen private areas members can build their homes (first temporary ones that do not require building permissions), get water, electricity and internet to it and make their spaces beautiful.

We are at 500m above sea level and you can walk to the near town Orgiva. The climate is mild, it does not snow in winter, but there can be some frost in some mornings. There is almost no rain in summer and can be over 40 degrees in the midday hours.
