Meet the neighbors:

Mission: Co-creating a ferociously powerful, non-violent, authentically democratic, residential community and community model that honors our differences of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity and expression, ability, sexual orientation, age, class, religion… our common humanity, and our planet.

From www.ic.org/directory/araminta-farm/:

This community is growing out of the work of The Sum (www.thesum.org). We envision both a Study Center and a an intertwined community where people can have an opportunity, in an environment of open-hearted dialogue, to be enriched by our differences and our commonality. This is a place where we can cultivate our unique genius and empowerment while being challenged to do our own, sometimes hard, personal work around the places we have privilege and the places we do not. We feel joyfully challenged to grow a garden on this planet where all people may find and experience "home" - where all aspects of our identities are seen and welcomed. We are creating a model for this kind of a community that will engender and share our human understanding of how this might be accomplished in the larger world. As a part of this, we experience a solidarity with the voiceless - including the environment - and seek to consider how best to withdraw our participation from violent and oppressive systems and engage with the development of meaningful alternatives.
We are seeking emotionally stable/mature core members who are willing to own their personal work as the deep soil preparation needed to grow a garden of empowered, ingenious people, healthy food, joyful connection, and social justice. Araminata Farm will provide the support and context for the work of The Sum (www.thesum.org). Our vision is that people will come from far away to Araminta as a place to study and learn. Some will stay and be a part of a life-long diverse community. Most will study and take their learning on their paths.
