Meet the neighbors:

Mission: We want to show that cooperative housing is a viable way to live in the modern world. We just try to all get along and to make things work as best we can.

From www.ic.org/directory/nottingham-cooperative/:

Nottingham is one of Madison, Wisconsin's, oldest housing cooperatives. We are located right on Lake Mendota between the University and the Capitol building.

Our house, with about 22 private rooms, has hosted a variety of events over the years in the common areas. We've hosted various parties, plays, musical acts, open mics, and so forth.

We have two scheduled house meetings per month where we discuss house affairs and responsibilities. We usually have a house meal together each evening around 6 or 7.

Members have a wide range of interests but generally lean toward the artistic side. We also do some gardening and take turns making dinner. We try to split up house responsibilities as best we can so that no one is burdened too much. We do have students living here from time to time but we are not strictly a student housing cooperative.
