Mission: Our mission is to support social entrepreneurs in their mission to serve and enhance society and the environment society depends on. We do this by providing a place where we can live, work, and learn together. We have a library that can help us accomplish our missions.

From www.ic.org/directory/social-progress-agents-community/:

I have the opportunity to create a community in this place I moved to, a community for social progress agents who want to help improve society and the environment using a cooperative leadership model.
I think an intentional community is much more different than a co-working space. An intentional community offers more benefits than a co-working space too. The other benefit is that you save a lot of money living in a 6 bedroom house with sufficient parking. This place has so much potential to help Social entrepreneurs serve their communities. Being part of community allows you to reduce expenses in many ways including food costs, because we can cook for everyone. I can even bake bread saving $4 dollars per pound of bread. We can also co-own or share cars to reduce expenses on vehicles and insurance.

Benefits of living at the social progress house:
• Reduce expenses by sharing things or cooperatively owning things like a plug-in hybrid electric car, car insurance, tools, bikes, computers, common area furniture and spaces, farm land, farming tools, food.
• 10-minute driving commute to VCU and downtown.
• Co-working spaces
• High-speed Internet WiFi
• Rent is affordable under $350 - $500 per room and probably cheaper when we find a place we all want to co-own.
• Be with like-minded people
• Lots of books. We have a library that will help you develop yourself and your social enterprise aimed to help benefit the world and society.
• We have plenty of refrigerator space with two extra fridges not being used.
• There are places to put your bike and your car.
• There are around 8 parking spots in the parking area behind the house and off the road.
