Meet the neighbors:

Mission: Vision
A working circle of friends thriving through the care of the land that provides for family and community.

Mission Statement

To create a neighbourhood scale community where people live, work and have fun together. To live a low impact life that meets our needs, with as little harm to the earth as possible. To deepen our connections, learn, grow and inspire others. To create and maintain a refuge for our community now and in the future.

From www.ic.org/directory/goldenrod-land-co-op/:

We are 3 families who have been meeting regularly to create a land co-op with the intention of buying land (70-160 acres, within 2 hours of Regina to the East/North-East). We have recently completed the legal documents involved in becoming a non-profit co-operative, learning to use consensus, looking at land, exploring financing options, developing business plans and getting to know each other better.
We envision for the future: buying land, building a community center/temporary housing, then spending some time developing the property, building homes and transitioning to living out of the city (part or full time).
We are looking for 2-9 more families or individuals to join us in this. The project of working on the membership structure of our Co-op and the application process is ongoing. As prospective Co-op members emerge we hope to continue to refine the contents of these documents. Rather than present our ideas as fait accompli, we encourage new members to join in making our Co-op a living entity that changes and grows as we do.
