Rancho San Roque

Mission: The mission of Rancho San Roque is provide a safe and secure place for individuals and families to live a sustainable lifestyle with the support of community members with the same life philosophy. Rancho San Roque plans to work closely with the people living in the surrounding areas in many different ways including shared food programs and educational programs.

Rancho san Roque is an off-grid intentional community with a focus on ecology and sustainability. Permaculture design principles are being incorporated throughout the development. The land is 37 acres with distant ocean and mountain/volcano views. There is fresh mountain spring water to all the homesites. The local is a rural setting 30 minutes from Liberia where there is a lot of infrastructure such as private hospitals, american fast food restaurants, fine dining, shopping, etc. The land is reclaimed pasture land is fertile for growing food on your personal property. there are also 3 community owned areas on the property which are for shared food production and a community center with a pool and kitchen for events. Decision making will be done by the community and developer until such time as all lots are sold and only community members are voting. The are 25 home sites on the property and 12 remain at this time. Some people have bought more than one to have more room for farming. Rain water collection, integrated wetlands and many other sustainable features are being utilized. Primary power for the property will be solar although wind is also an option as there are good breezes much of the time. Thousands of fruit trees have been planted and are beginning to bloom. At 1,500 feet elevation the temperature is perfect and no AC is needed.
