We are an intergenerational cohousing community of 41 PassivHaus homes with extensive workshop and office spaces which are used by residents and local businesses. We are based in Halton, 3 miles outside of Lancaster city along the riverside cycle track. We moved in during 2012-13 and opened the eco-workshop spaces (2000m2) in Sept 2013.
We are committed to making Forgebank a cutting edge example of sustainable design and living. The homes are PassivHaus and are built to CSH level 6. We have photovoltaic cells, district heating off a biomass boiler and have plans to install a hydro scheme.
