White Lake Intentional Christian Community

Mission: We aim to live sustainably (consuming less, sharing items, growing food, living small) together (sharing a property with family units) while honoring Christ (involving community spiritual rhythms).

Inspired by the community living and sustainable practices from our internship and work at A Rocha Canada, a Christian conservation organization, we purchased roughly three acres on land in White Lake, BC, Canada. This land is 25 minutes away from Salmon Arm affording easy access to amenities, but is unzoned so we are legally capable of building as many dwellings as needed for our community. What started as raw land in 2017 now has (almost!) three dwelling units in housed in two dwellings. We are currently living in the cabin on site as a family of four and hope that roughly in May 2018 either two family units (a couple, a family, friends living together as family, etc.) or one family unit and some interns will join us. We are in the process of looking for people to join us who ideally will want to form long-term community with us. We are very open to people being creative about how to form community on the property. We have built a showerhouse with a shower, toilet, laundry and fridge/freezer for those who may live onsite in tiny houses without those amenities or for people who may want to come and camp to participate in what's going on here!
