Meet the neighbors:

Mission: The purpose of this community is to alternate capitalism with a self-sufficient economy, based on the theory that man needs both in order to fulfill his intrinsically ambivalent nature, i.e. respectively the "progressive" and "static" ones (please refer to my blog if you have the patience to read it ) .
I plan to expand its presence worldwide .

From www.ic.org/directory/binary-model/:

The "static area" (as I call it) is represented by an overgrown gently sloping hazelnut grove and woodland which ends in a strip of plain , bordered by a delightful creek which (usually) runs all year long, providing for the irrigation of vegetables and corn fields. The land is set in a national park, so all manner of wild animals including wild boar roam freely and hunting is allowed.
The adjacent lands are all abandoned and can therefore be purchased at very moderate prices, thus allowing the potential expansion of the community up to about a 4 hectare area in total.
There is also a spontaneous spring which runs all year except in summer and a well can be easily dug (probably even by hand) as water is a few meters below the surface.
The climate is very temperate due to the low altitude and surrounding woodland.
Construction would be allowed if one of the adjacent lands were to be purchased, as it is sufficiently far away from the stream.
It's also possible to connect to the grid, but solar energy is more in line with my purpose.
As everywhere in Italy, civilization is always very near. Yet, this place is, by its orography, very private. Although there are farms and people all around , the sensation of being fully immersed in a solitary wilderness is overwhelming.
I build everything with what I have at hand. I have recently constructed a gross but extremely functional chicken coop which neither foxes or weasels have succeeded in penetrating in spite of their obvious endeavors. The laying hens I raised in it , which are free to roam the land by day, appear to have developed an unusual wisdom and balance which make them very friendly and disciplined. They are so confident that they like to hitch rides on my shoulders or follow me around while they hunt for insects and grubs.
I get my internet connectivity only via a mobile 3G signal on a tablet which I charge via solar .

The idea is to move into this environment permanently, albeit gradually. For the time being, I still have a convenient umbilical chord tying me to the "civilized" world by dint of a comfortable villa located about 8 miles from said wilderness, which I can reach even by bicycle. This large house is composed by three independent areas all equipped with relevant kitchens and bathrooms. This is an urban dwelling (albeit situated in the country, 15 miles from Rome) and offers perfect connectivity to internet, mobile and landline, apart from breathtaking views, a lovely garden with fruit trees and a swimming pool. From there, I occasionally jet off to wherever I can find I.T. contract work in Europe. My intention is to turn part of this house into a language school ( I'm fluent in five ) and cooking workshop with B&B or hostel facility .

I would ideally prefer to join forces with people who would like to participate in this venture. They wouldn't have to contribute financially , although that would be my preference , but would need to help me take care of the villa and the land, especially when I'm away for work.
I would ideally like to purchase a flat land that would allow for taking off and landing with an ultralight aircraft and keeping a couple of horses, but although I don't lack the funds, this would have to be found at some distance from my present farmland, as the landscape would not allow for it.
I am also poised to purchase a small sailboat to moor in British waters, with which to escape on long sailing trips.
Self-sufficiency, in my mind, also includes transportation ...
And this project is very much about play and adventure as well, so the above would not be incoherent with it.
I have some funds available for all of this. It's more a matter of energy, enthusiasm and sharing.
