From www.ic.org/directory/three-little-birds-eco-village/:

Greetings all,

We are currently looking for members to form a self-sufficient, sustainable eco-village in the sunshiny state of Florida! :)
Below is the ideal vision for this community. Ideas listed are naturally progressing to suit the ever-changing needs of the Earth and its inhabitants. Please e-mail me if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

We advocate love and peace, operating under the "do unto others as you would like them to do unto you" philosophy.
We practice non-judgment, compassion, and forgiveness, and strive to live in harmony with the Earth and its creatures.

We strive to restore the health of the Earth -- its soil and ecosystems.
We use permaculture practices such as edible landscaping with perennial fruits, vegetables, and bushes. We use water harvesting and management, mulching to suppress weeds and prevent moisture loss/erosion, and we create rich biomass through composting (including humanure composting). We also seek to provide habitat for animals, insects, and other critters, and practice the holistic management of animals.

The structures onsite will be made of made of non-toxic, natural materials: cob, straw bale, bamboo, and sustainably harvested wood. These structures will be equipped to harvest passive energy, including rainwater collection, shading (with trees), creating a wind draft in the buildings, and natural lighting.
We will harvest energy using wind and solar power, and ideally be completely off the grid.
We will also create water filtration systems using plants (drinking water and greywater filtration).

The mental health of our members is important to us, and we advocate positive thinking, being proactive instead of reactive, self-realization, and acting out of love instead of fear or scarcity.
In addition, we feel it is important to value yourself and others as divine expressions of life, and express genuine kindness -- listening, caring, and sharing possessions, time, and ideas.
We foster right speech: speaking in respectful and uplifting ways to one another.
Overall, we want members to feel safe and respected, and for everyone to respect personal space of others.

Physical health of members is also important, as it greatly affects one's quality of life.
We wish to grow all of our sustenance with permaculture techniques, in rich, nutrient dense soil which is never treated with chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides.
Ideally, members will practice natural and holistic methods of healing, such as use of medicinal herbs, food as medicine, fermented foods, cleanses, sauna, nutrient therapy, reiki healing, and acupuncture.
Exercise is important too, and we encourage members to treat Earth as a playground! Tree climbing, dancing, yoga, t'ai chi, qi gong, etc.

The spiritual health of members will be nurtured by designated areas for meditation, prayer, and contemplation. Silent retreats and Karma Yoga retreats are events we would enjoy holding.

Music and the arts feed the soul too! We advocate creativity in all of its various forms, and will also hold retreats and artist/musician residencies for creative peoples to practice their craft in a healthy, carefree, stress free environment.

Self-sufficiency and interdependence are important to us. We wish to create eco-friendly/plant based goods, repurpose "trash", make functional crafts (basket weaving, ceramics), make non-toxic soap, learn earth skills (sewing, knitting, wild edible foraging), beekeeping, chicken keeping, and food and drink processing (fermented foods, hard cider/mead, vinegar, jams), etc.

Overall, we want to provide members, friends, family, and visitors a safe space to deeply appreciate nature in all of its beautiful manifestations, to practice gratitude and love, and to purely enjoy their time on Earth!
