Model Community Properties

Mission: Model Community Properties cultivates, fosters and facilitates equitable, shareable, self-governed land use arrangements, studying their economic and social impact.

Ours is not a traditional intentional community, but instead is a model that can exist anywhere. Our center of operations is in Asheville, NC, where the organization coordinates all related activities.
There are also several Model Community Property locations in and around Asheville.
Outreach is conducted from the Center of Operations, where associates engage with outside parties who are interested in observing or participating in an MCP lifestyle arrangement.
Our lifestyle arrangements are reflective of our mission, with each being reflective of:
1 - Equitable exchanges, wherein investors agree to a fixed, reasonable rate of return on their investment (4-5% annual);
2 - Shared use of resources;
3 - Self-governed decision-making, wherein all associates participate in decision-making while agreeing to be self-responsible.
Ours is a unique community perspective that match investors with residents who prefer to live in community without longterm commitment. We offer a structure within which the responsibilities and rewards of property ownership can be shared by those participating in its lifestyle arrangements.
MCP does not own property nor does it employ those who participate in its arrangements. Our role in community relationships is to broaden and strengthen them by offering communication tools, a self-governed structure, and the management of necessary financial transactions. Our associates make the rest happen.
