Mission: FIASCO!’s core values are radical respect, intentionality, active communication, and co-acting. These values are central and necessary to everything we do. We believe that with these values as the foundation of our culture, we will be able to pursue our group goals, which we have identified as wellness, growth, curiosity, creation and creativity, real food, celebration, community, and sustainability.

From www.ic.org/directory/fiasco-2/:

FIASCO! is the newest branch of a 50+ year collective history. We're proud to be the latest manifestation of a long lineage of rad co-ops, including Bob the House (Seattle), Even Worse House (Olympia), and Cherry Hill MDA (Boston).

FIASCO! began in July 2014, and embraced the name when one of the founding members shared the word's supposed etymology. As the legend goes, "fiasco" comes from an old Italian word for "flask." When glassblowers made wine bottles they had to be perfectly shaped so the bottles could stack and store well. However, sometimes the bottles didn’t turn out quite right. Instead of scrapping the problem bottles, they molded them into flasks, turning a potential disaster into a vibrant work of art. FIASCO! (Disclaimer, we don't know how much truth there is in this, but we sure like the story!)
