OUR VALUES* We value the lives and rights of all creatures equally, not just humans. We believe an animal should only be killed, either to eat or because it was attacking you or someone you are charged to protect.
* We value the natural world and believe it is healthier for our bodies to follow natural cycles. As such, we tend to celebrate seasonal cycles like spring time or the full moon.
* We value survival skills and believe that the skills needed to build shelter, find food and water and protect yourself and you family from whatever threat, are skills that all creatures need, even humans. We recognise the possibility of a major war or natural disaster and we want to be as prepared as we possibly can be for it.
* We value emotional bonds and community above material pursuits. We believe that doing daily tasks (cooking and gathering food, planting etc.) with people who have a vested interest in each other strengthens the spirit and builds trust. We think that people need to rediscover their own personal value to society. Everyone needs emotional security, why not give it to them?
* We value consent and believe that everyone should be offered the chance to say "no" to anything that impacts their own body and have their wishes respected. The kind of consent often talked about is sexual, but there are many other things that are done to us in the external world, non-consensually. Schooling and education, pollution, fashion and nudity, medical treatment, communication (the right to peaceful protest) and a multitude of trivial or social rules made by external entities to control every tiny thing, all come into this.
