Mission: To live sustainably

From www.ic.org/directory/community-refuge/:

The land and house are ready to be occupied. The vision is to provide a place to live in a simple and eco-friendly way and also use the land for the purpose of spiritual growth, healing and education.

One of the more important aspects in order to live together as a community is to be able to communicate, have a healthy sense of self and understand and agree to pitch in when needed to make it work. Many hands make light work. Character traits that need to be cultivated to make this work are integrity and honesty, understanding unconditional love, humbleness, kindness, willingness to work with others, ability to see the vision and problem solve, work towards a common goal, encourager.

The physical property does not have zoning restrictions, so alternative housing, camping, rv's and trailers are not a problem.

There is a small, spring fed stocked pond, woods, streams, ravines, open pastures, friendly neighbors. So far, it just the house (5 bedroom) and some fencing in place.

The house does have a mortgage and utilities have to be paid until alternatives are found/built, so there needs to be some sort of income so that the bills are paid. I need a minimum of five people who are willing to put in a monthly amount of $250.00 ea to get it going. As businesses are established that will diminish.

The property is located within a 30 minute drive to Chillicothe, Lancaster, Circleville, Logan, Ohio and about 50 - 60 minutes from Columbus, Ohio and surrounding suburbs.

One of the things we want to accomplish is to have some kind of outreach or service to the extended community in the area. Most of our outreach has to do with encouraging others to live in a sustainable manner.

There are a lot of things that can be shared living the community lifestyle.
Our "stuff", encouragement, support, work, food, accomplishments and the list goes on.

Those interested in becoming a part of this community need to be ready to spend time communicating through email and phone calls. If you send an email that just says "Hi, can I come and visit" or "What can I get from this community" without any other input, you may want to try someplace else.

Tell us a little about yourself, what are your goals, dreams and visions, what can you bring to help build this community, why does this community appeal to you, what you are willing to commit to.
