From www.ic.org/directory/black-sheep-animal-sanctuary/:

The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary is a recently established animal sanctuary working with neglected/abused native and introduced animals. Our main focus is on rescued farm animals. We have 26 acres in the Otaki Forks area, just over an hour from Wellington. The sanctuary is strictly a human-vegan space. Queer/lesbian/gay/trans/bi/intersex friendly essential. We have a main house and are working towards sleepouts and other housing options. Currently 4 adults and one teenager permanent residents. We run 3 fundraising opshops/charity stores that help pay for the mortgage and animal care. Residents pay their own (communal) food costs. Currently over 160 animals residing at the sanctuary - pigs, goats, cows, sheep, cats, dogs, geese, chooks, ducks, a horse and more!
