Mission: Egalitarian, self-organized, intentional community

From www.ic.org/directory/utopiaggia/:

We are an egalitarian, humanitarian commune living as ecologically as possible with the land. The community started in Lower Bavaria in 1975 and moved to Central Italy in 1982. Many of the founding members came out of the Movement of the 1960s. There are 20 adults and five children living in three houses on 92 hectares of hilly land. A large flock of sheep provides the basis for commercial cheese production. We keep horses and poultry, and some of the activities we are engaged in are horticulture, colouring of textiles with natural colours, pottery, and other handicrafts. Our monetary income we obtain predominantly working as artisans and in the service sector outside of the community. We have stopped to receive visitors with a general interest in communal living.
