Mission: creating great collective home

From www.ic.org/directory/sunhouse-co-op/:

We have joined together for the purpose of creating a great collective home for ourselves! This is a place that is a joy to return to, supportive of our lives, work, and service, a foundation for friendships, filled with laughter, music, art, yummy food, responsive to, and supportive of life's challenges, respectful of diversity, earth friendly, and a strong contributing household to the Sunward Community.

We recognize that cooperative living is an ever-evolving work in progress. Miscommunication is bound to happen. Tempers will flare. Feelings will be hurt. And most of the time the collective effort of creating a sense of place, a community, will lift our spirits and make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. We acknowledge the minefield and we enjoy the dance together as we move through it. To this end, house participation, being social, and doing chores are important priorities.

AND YOU? We are open to chatting with folks about possibilities. This would include someone who:

• Will make our house better than without you
• Is passionate about dancing
• Is excited about cooperative living
• Follows an ecologically sustainable lifestyle
• Will say what you mean and do what you say
• Is responsible, fun loving, emotionally mature, and financially stable
• Likes to eat and cook healthy organic food for a group
• Keeps a very clean and tidy house and kitchen
• Likes to live without TV
• Doesn't use tobacco, artificial scents, or have a furry pet
• is enthused to be part of our community

Ours is one of 40 households comprising Sunward Cohousing, an intentional community where resources are shared, lives are simplified, the Earth is respected, diversity is welcomed, children play together in safety, and living in community comes naturally. We are located about 4 miles west of downtown Ann Arbor on 20 beautiful acres including woods, ponds, organic gardens, playfields, an antique barn, and more.
