Struggle Mountain is an intentional community that has existed since the 1960s. It was named by Joan Baez when she lived here. After renting for most of a decade, it was bought by the community in 1976. This intentional community evolved out of the sixties' counterculture and, most particularly, nonviolence and the draft resistance movement.
