Finca Fruición: Permaculture Land Cooperative

Finca Fruición, meaning Fruition Farm, is a beautiful piece of land in the mountains of Costa Rica. This 8.5 hector property has been homesteaded by the founding family of the land cooperative and has grown a foundational infrastructure. With 5 years of onsite experience in Permaculture Design, sustainable building, managing volunteers and staff, hosting courses, eco-tourism, and putting on small festivals, Finca Fruición is ready for the next level of community.

Finca Fruición has a solid community design and is ripe with food, heart, and experience to welcome new members. The Fruition Center, is located on the land and hosts courses, workshops, festivals, tourists, and volunteers generating an income for the community while also bringing in fresh energy and enthusiasm to the land. Finca Fruición focuses on cultivating a holistic culture of well-being which nurtures one’s self, their community, and the environment.

The land is collectively owned through a corporation called Finca Fruicion S.A. The Land Cooperative is comprised of the share-holding members, who are also the board of directors, of the above-mentioned corporation. These members also form the Member Council.

Finca Fruición is comprised of residential members, timeshare members, staff, volunteers, interns, and farmstay guests. Finca Fruición's model of community honors autonomy while offering opportunities for co-creation and resource sharing in adherence to the Community Living Agreements.
The community is unified by its vision, key ethics and shared focus on cultivating an internal economy, through the Fruition Center.  These 3 key ethics are  Earth care, people care  & fair share.

Finca Fruición incorporates permaculture design, sustainable food systems, holistic healthcare, compassionate communication, contemplative education, family nourishment, and integral business ethics to fulfill this vision.
