Mission: We are creating an international cohousing community in a village where we are connected to our neighbours; where we are using renewable resources to the fullest extent while enjoying life, and having an adventure while taking care of ourselves. We are living together in harmony, being healthy, exercising and constantly learning from ourselves and others. We are committed to the cultivation of body, mind and spirit in self, culture and nature.

From www.ic.org/directory/rancho-la-salud-village/:

A new gated community is being created near Ajijic, Mexico, a sustainable Cohousing village. The Lake Chapala area has long been touted as one of the best retirement places on earth, and now comes a new kind of place to retire, Rancho La Salud Village. This is “community by design” where the residents themselves work together to create their village.
This community will be the first Cohousing community in Mexico, and one of the most comprehensive. It will consist of an international neighborhood of 11 homes, 20 townhomes and 6 residential suites that concentrates on sustainability (total on-site solar energy and water generation, on-site disposal of water and waste, organically growing our own food), health and wellness (following the guidelines established by AARP in the Blue Zone), adult learning and teaching, organic farming and permaculture, aging in place, and longevity. The land is purchased, the common house is built, and the lots are approved. We are ready to move onto the next step, that of forming community with the people who will live here. All residents own their own lot and home and a percentage of the common ground.
