Meet the neighbors:

A producer-owned fishing cooperative specializing in wholesale and retail lobster which also purchases fuel for members and has developed the Bremen Lobster Realty Co-op. Founded in 1938 as a lobster pound and buying station; became a co-op in 1995 when the principal lobstermen in the area got together to buy the land and waterfront structures that occupy 13 acres with 685 feet of prime ocean frontage. In 2008, they received a $300,000 Working Waterfront Access Pilot Program grant from the state for a state-of-the-art processing facility with large coolers, a flash freezer, and a cold storage area, plus some much-needed dock repair and crib work, and to remove the decaying hull of the Cora Cressy, a large wooden schooner beached in 1938 that blocked effective access to the co-op’s piers, along with other improvements.
